24h Blue Mtn Relay Supports Collingwood G&M Hospital Foundation
Collingwood, ON – Held earlier this year in February, the third annual 24h BLUE MTN team relay fundraiser, presented by Canada Life, was an outstanding success raising a record total of $156,123.90. The 41 teams made up of 294 participants skied, snowboarded, ran and walked for 24 hours in support of Special Olympics Ontario and the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation (CGMHF).
This past week, Michael Ney was on hand to present a cheque of $35,700.00 on behalf of the event to CGMHF, funding that will support the purchase of patient beds and stretchers for the Hospital.
“It has been exciting to see this event grow and be so successful over the past three years and it’s quickly becoming the weekend so many look forward to during the ski season,” says Jory Pritchard-Kerr, CGMHF President & CEO. “We’re grateful once again to the amazing team that works diligently to put the relay together and to be the recipient of funds that will directly impact the needs of our Hospital.”
The next 24h BLUE MTN team relay event is currently slated to run February 20-21, 2021, at Blue Mountain, Collingwood, ON. The much anticipated event features an action-packed day and night of winter outdoor recreation along with great music, food and prizing to be won. Interested participants who would like to ski, snowboard, walk, run or volunteer can find more information at 24hbluemtn.ca.
