Meet CGMHF Board Member, Jennifer Young

Jennifer is a retired District Vice President with Scotiabank. She resides in Collingwood with her husband Larry. Jennifer’s grandson is the 7th generation in Collingwood and she is so proud to call Collingwood home.  Jennifer’s career in banking has given her great opportunities in many communities but feels no other community compares to Collingwood.

Jennifer graduated from Wilfred Laurier with a Business Administration Diploma. When Jennifer isn’t serving on the board or many other Foundation committees, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and having fun with them.

Jennifer loves being able to give back to her community through working at the Foundation as a Volunteer. Jennifer is very excited about the new Hospital and is looking forward to help raise donations from her wonderful community for the new build.  Jennifer believes we are so fortunate to have the generous support of our community in South Georgian Bay.

I feel it is really important to give back to your community.  The hospital is such an important part of our Community.  We will always need the hospital sometime during our life so it was an easy fit for me.  I was born in CGMH and so were all 3 of my children.  Over the years we have had numerous visits to our amazing hospital and are so grateful to have this health care facility in our Community.  I am excited  to be involved with the  fund raising for the redevelopment of our new facility  which will have such a tremendous impact on our Community.

What is the greatest impact during my tenure?

A lot has happened at CGMHF over the many years that I have served.  During my term as Chair we were able to break the $1,000,000 mark for our Tree of Life Campaign and have continued to raise over $1,000,000 each year since for the Tree of Life Campaign.

Also I would mention that we received direction from the Ministry of Health to proceed with Stage 1 for the hospital redevelopment which validated our Boards position that significant improvements were needed and that to start planning for our large campaign ahead.
