The Dr. A. R. Stephen Society

The Dr. A. R. Stephen Society is a unique group of people who have recognized the need for ongoing support of the Hospital and have planned a gift for its future through their wills, life insurance or other estate planning vehicle. Dr. A. R. Stephen was the first physician to practice medicine at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. He was a trusted health practitioner and philanthropist who supported the Hospital, his church and various other charities in Collingwood.

Memorial Wall

A special section of the Donor Wall is reserved to honor the memory of loved ones. The Memorial Wall section recognizes cumulative memorial donations of $5,000 or more. Family members and friends also have the option of providing a one-time gift or installment payments to reach the $5,000 level.

Donatio in Enternam Wall

Donatio in Eternam is a latin expression that means A Gift For All Eternity.

This is what Endowment Gifts represent, and for that reason they are important to the future of the G&M Hospital. These gifts are designated by the donor for a particular use; they are invested and the income is dispersed annually to the Hospital for use as directed by the donor. Endowment gifts are held in perpetuity so they benefit your Hospital forever. These donors are recognized on the Donation In Eternam Wall. Named Endowments represent initial gifts of $100,000 or more.

Endowment Wall

On occasion, donors feel so strongly about their Hospital that they make a very substantial one time gift to the Foundation, either as cash or as a bequest in their will. These one-time gifts of $250,000 or more are recognized on the Foundation’s Endowment Wall. A personalized plaque outlining the donor’s history in the community and with the G&M is placed on the wall .

Baby Wall

Commemorate the birth of your child at the G&M Hospital and the excellent care provided, through a permanent display of your child’s full name and birth date. Engraved acrylic balloon plaques are prominently displayed for parents and visitors in the OBS department. Donations to this program go to the provision of the most up-to-date medical equipment and technology available in Obstetrics. An income tax deductible donation of $250 is required for each balloon.
