On Saturday July 6th, over 150 CGMH supporters attended a “Barn Party” fundraiser in support of the Foundation’s building fund for a new hospital. The event was arranged by the band BackSpin and hosted by Christiane and Adam Delean in their beautifully renovated barn located in a verdant setting on their Clearview Township farm.
BackSpin kept the crowd on the dance floor with a mix of rock, folk rock and R&B ranging from Van Morrison to James Brown and Black Box catering served up their mouth watering tacos and other delicacies. Hospital Board Chair Barry Goodwin spoke to those assembled regarding the challenging task ahead of the Foundation in raising the local community share of the funds required for construction of the new hospital and the resultant need for community engagement and support. “Our community needs and deserves a new, expanded state-of-the-art hospital” says Goodwin, “and working together, we will make that happen.”
BackSpin would like to thank all of those who attended for their interest, support and generosity, and are delighted that the event raised $3,900 towards our new hospital.
