L-R: Sandra Taylor, CGMH Foundation President & CEO, with Giving Circle Steering Committee Members: Kara McIntosh, Joan Emmans, Joan Schatz, Laura Wilson, and Andrée Dell
On September 30th, 79 women came together for the Giving Circle’s Annual Meeting, an inspiring evening celebrating generosity, innovation, and the future of healthcare at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH).
This year’s gathering brought together community members and hospital professionals for an inside look at projects designed to improve patient care directly. The event showcased five compelling presentations and provided members with the opportunity to vote on which initiatives would receive funding.

Thanks to the collective generosity of our members, we raised $102,726, allowing the top four projects to move forward:
OMNI Hysteroscope & Instrument Set – Dr. Melanie Zimmermann & Ann Itwaru
A minimally invasive scope that improves the diagnosis and treatment of uterine conditions, reducing recovery time and complications.
DXA Encode – Dr. Murray Miller & Jamey Gilroy
A software platform that streamlines Bone Mineral Density reporting, saving time for technologists and ensuring consistent, up-to-date clinical practices.
CBT for Psychosis Training – Jennifer Foote & Kirsti Lindholm
An evidence-based therapy that equips patients with strategies to manage psychosis symptoms and supports recovery-focused care.
Mindful Meals – Heather Robertson, Jennifer Foote & Kirsti Lindholm
A pilot food pantry in the Mental Health building, providing nutritious meals to outpatients and supporting both well-being and treatment adherence.
The Giving Circle also welcomed 11 new members this year, expanding a network of women whose engagement drives meaningful change in our community.
The Giving Circle is more than a philanthropic event—it’s a platform for members to learn, connect, and see the impact of their contributions firsthand. Every vote, every gift, and every conversation shapes the future of healthcare at CGMH.
On behalf of the hospital, our healthcare team, and the CGMH Foundation, we extend our sincere thanks to all members for their commitment and support. Together, we are fostering innovation, advancing care, and strengthening the health of our community.
