Collingwood, ON — The Davenport family will host the 6th annual Jax Pays It Forward event on Friday, June 14, 2025, at Side Launch Brewing Co. in support of the CGMH Foundation and Ronald McDonald House, Hamilton.
Three-year-old Jax has been rushed to the emergency department over 200 times. Born with a heart condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT), Jax has an irregularly fast/erratic heartbeat that affects the heart’s upper chambers and has to be rushed to the ED so that they can “reset the heart” through medication and even defibrillation. The Davenports chose to move to Collingwood due to the exceptional experience at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital and now pay it forward through their annual fundraising event.
This year’s event will feature an afternoon of family-friendly activities including live music, food trucks, face painting, bouncy castles, circus performers, a silent auction, a beer garden and more.
All proceeds raised will go towards maintaining the family’s sponsored room at Ronald McDonald House Hamilton and supporting South Georgian Bay’s Hospital of Tomorrow. At 4x the size of the current footprint, the new hospital will expand healthcare services for our fast-growing community, improve patient care and privacy, attract top healthcare professionals and build on our strengths in education and training.
The Davenport family believes that if you can’t pay it back, you can pay it forward—and they invite the community to join them in doing just that.
Interested in being a part of the event as a volunteer? Please reach out to the CGMH Foundation at [email protected].
