As Jory Pritchard Kerr approaches her well-deserved retirement after almost 37 years of service to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation (CGMH) and the community, the Foundation Board has been hard at work finding her successor.
“We pulled together a committee of nine people that included several members of the Foundation Board, representation from the Campaign Cabinet, the Vice Chair of the Hospital, and the Hospital CEO and myself,” said Mike Dick, past Chair of the Foundation and Chair of the Selection Committee. “It was important that we have a range of people and perspectives, as we know this is a critical hire for the Foundation.”
The President & CEO Search Committee unanimously recommended Sandra Taylor as the Foundation’s next CEO. Taylor’s appointment was ratified by the Foundation Board of Directors on April 23, 2025.
“We had a strong pool of candidates who brought deep experience in fundraising and charity leadership, and Sandra really stood out,” commented Brad Miller, current Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “Sandra has experience as a Hospital Foundation CEO with a similar sized team and community, and she also brings experience working on major fundraising campaigns with a variety of Hospital Foundations and other charities.”
Taylor’s collaborative style really landed well with the Search Committee. “I’m very confident that Sandra will work really well with our physicians, nurses, and Hospital leadership team, building on the terrific relationships that Jory and her Foundation team have already built,” offered Hospital CEO Michael Lacroix.
“We know she’ll also partner very well with our Foundation volunteers,” offered Kara McIntosh, Foundation Vice-Chair. “Sandra showed a lot of enthusiasm for getting involved in our local communities.”
Taylor is currently the Executive Director at the Georgetown Hospital Foundation, which is part of Halton Healthcare. She has 25 years of professional experience in fundraising and communications in the not-for-profit sector. Earlier in her career, Taylor worked in sports marketing.
Taylor will join the CGMH Foundation team on August 5, 2025. “I’m really excited to be joining the Foundation at such a pivotal time,” said Taylor. “I know that Jory, the Hospital and Foundation teams, and many volunteers have done fantastic work on the campaign for the new Hospital, and I look forward to working with all of them to continue efforts to make the new Hospital a reality.”
“Moving to South Georgian Bay is one of the amazing perks of the job,” commented Taylor. “Having the opportunity to live, work, and play in such a beautiful region is a dream come true.”
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Laurentian University. She is also PROSCI certified in Change Management and has completed the Not for Profit Governance Essentials program offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors through Rotman School of Management. Taylor is a member of several professional organizations such as the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
