Nothing sweeter than support you can count on.

Joe & Mary Dale Matanowitsch are the proud owners of the Candy Factory in Collingwood.

Joe & Mary Dale Matanowitsch are the proud owners of the Candy Factory in Collingwood. They have been generous supporters of the CGMH Foundation for 11 years, and their monthly donations have helped purchase many different hospital tools throughout the years.

Joe moved to Collingwood with his parents in the mid 1950s, all the way from Germany. Mary Dale was born at CGMH and lived in Nottawa her whole life. In 1986 they purchased the Candy Factory in downtown Collingwood and have been sweetening up our community ever since.

Prior to working alongside her husband at the Candy Factory, Mary Dale was a Registered Nurse at CGMH for 17 years. Their three sons were all born at CGMH and have all been treated there for fractures. Both Joe & Mary Dale have required medical services in the past as well. From times of joy and celebration to the inevitable challenges that life can bring, CGMH has been there for their family, always caring for them with kindness and compassion.

“As long-term residents and business owners in the area we decided to thank CGMH for the support that each member of our family has received in the past by making a monthly donation.  We will continue our support as CGMH enters a new era with the construction of a new and modern facility that will offer the best possible care to all in the area.”

Thank you, Joe & Mary Dale, for your ongoing generosity. Your monthly gifts help equip our hospital with the best tools to care for our patients.
