CGMH Foundation Announces Leadership Transition and New Board Appointments

Collingwood, ON – June 29, 2026 – The Collingwood General & Marine Hospital (CGMH) Foundation ratified a series of Board leadership updates at its Annual Meeting on June 19, 2026.

After a transformative two-year tenure, Brad Miller, Board Chair, will transition into the role of Past Chair. Brad’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Foundation’s current momentum, including the successful launch of the campaign to build a new hospital for South Georgian Bay. He also played a key role in strengthening the organization’s leadership, notably guiding the recruitment of President & CEO, Sandra Taylor following the retirement of Jory Pritchard‑Kerr in July 2025.

Stepping into the role of Board Chair is Kara McIntosh, who has served as Vice‑Chair for the past two years. Kara is a respected community leader and a well-known multi-disciplinary artist whose work reflects a deep connection to our community. A long-time Foundation supporter, she was also a founding member of the Giving Circle and brings a thoughtful, collaborative leadership style to the role as the Tomorrow’s Hospital campaign continues to gain momentum.

The Foundation also extends its sincere gratitude to Michael Dick, who is concluding his term on the Board and his current role as Past Chair. Michael’s steady leadership, deep commitment, and years of dedicated service have helped position the Foundation for long-term success and growth. Most recently, Mike was instrumental in leading the CEO recruitment process that resulted in the appointment of Sandra Taylor.

Monica Quinlan will transition from her role as Treasurer to Vice-chair, following four years of providing thoughtful financial stewardship to the Foundation, drawing on her extensive background in finance and governance. During her tenure, Monica led significant enhancements to the Administration & Finance Committee, strengthening its structure, processes, and oversight to better support the Foundation’s growing needs.

Jon Cheek, who rejoined the Board last year following an earlier tenure from 2015 to 2021, brings his extensive experience in wealth management and financial strategy to the role and will take over the Treasurer position from Monica. A Collingwood resident since 2005, Jon leads a successful wealth management practice with BMO Private Wealth, overseeing over $950 million in assets. His background also includes experience in corporate communications and public affairs.

In addition to these leadership transitions, the Foundation welcomes Dan Hurley to the Board as a respected community builder and industry leader. With extensive experience in civil engineering, project management, and sustainable infrastructure, Dan has contributed to the advancement of complex municipal and development projects across Ontario, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and community-focused growth. He currently serves as President at Tatham Engineering.

“With this exceptional group of leaders, we are well-positioned to build on our success and continue advancing Tomorrow’s Hospital,” said Kara McIntosh. “I’m honoured to step into the role of Board Chair and build on the strong foundation established by Brad Miller, Michael Dick, and those who have come before.”

The CGMH Foundation remains focused on engaging the community in support of a new, state-of-the-art hospital that will serve the region for generations to come.
