Barrie & Mary’s Story

There’s no Better Feeling Than Giving Back

“Giving back in this way makes us both feel wonderful. We know we’re doing something important that will have an impact long into the future. There’s nothing better than that.”

When Barrie and Mary Lennox met as ski patrollers in The Blue Mountains more than 50 years ago, they were adventure-seeking weekend visitors. But a love of the local lifestyle led to a permanent move to the area in 1989.

Whether visiting the hospital for diagnostic tests and procedures, or needing more urgent care in the emergency department, Barrie and Mary were always impressed with the competency and compassion they experienced at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.

Barrie and Mary credit the Hospital’s strong community support for many of their positive experiences. For them, it’s not only a place where they can receive exceptional health care close to home, but an integral part of the community where they are always treated like members of the family.

Their decision to leave a legacy to the Hospital through a bequest in their wills was an easy and satisfying one. They know their gift will benefit a great many people: their friends, their neighbours, and the entire community.
