“I guess you could say that the Hospital is woven into the fabric of our family. I imagine that the reason we’ve all been supporters of the Hospital has been the same through the generations.”
John Carswell can’t remember a time when his family wasn’t involved with Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.
Three generations of Carswells took their first breaths within its walls – John, his mother, and most recently, his grandson. Decades earlier, his grandfather proudly served as the Chair of the Hospital Board and his great-grandfather was a generous donor.
John knows how important health care and hospitals are to a community. He also knows that community support is critical to making sure the hospital can provide the very best care to his family, friends, and neighbours.
That’s why he’s decided to remember Collingwood General & Marine Hospital with a gift in his will. It’s his way of giving back for all the Hospital has given him over the years, and all it will continue to do for him as he ages.
As he watches his three-year-old grandson experience the wonder and excitement of the world around him, he knows he’s made a gift that will lead to a better health care system for future generations of his family. And that is a very satisfying feeling!
