We’re building a home for health professionals of the future.
Our health system in South Georgian Bay is at an inflection point. Our population is growing at an unprecedented rate, the needs of our community are evolving, and we are seeing more complexity than ever before.
As our square footage almost quadruples in size, we will expand health care services for our fast-growing community and bring care closer to home. Our new facility will improve patient safety and privacy, help retain and recruit top healthcare professionals, and build on our strength in rural, interprofessional education and training.
As our communities grow & evolve, we must too.

What’s Next
Ministry of Health and Infrastructure Ontario has approved the Functional Planning 1.3 Submission! CGMH has now entered Stage 2 (detailed planning) of the Ministry of Health’s capital planning process. This next stage transforms the project from concept to actionable design, where the physical layout of the early planning stage is realized in preliminary designs that will guide future construction of the new hospital.

Today: Her 200th trip to the emergency department.
Tomorrow: Back to bouncy castles and tea parties.
Jax’ heart condition is unique and brings her to the emergency department on the regular. Getting her back home and living a normal 4-year old life is always the number 1 goal of our CGMH team. This means our small but innovative team has to be skilled, prepared, and trained to care for Jax…and any other emergency situation that comes their way.
Rural Medicine Matters
Rural medicine at CGMH means being ready to deal with any emergency that comes our way. We are an hour away from the nearest regional trauma centre, so our team needs to be ready and able to stabilize, diagnose, and deliver the care that our patients need in those critical moments.
Dr. Jesse Guscott, Rural generalist and award-winning medical educator for CGMH.
Campaign Leadership
Facing a goal as audacious as $100 million requires an incredible team. We’re grateful to this group of extraordinary philanthropic, business and community leaders guiding this campaign. They are deeply committed to transforming care in South Georgian Bay, and to providing our healthcare professionals the space, tools and flexibility they need to serve our community into the future.
