Michael Cullip is a Vice President at Tatham Engineering, where he uses his experience and expertise to build and strengthen client relations, explore project opportunities, and ensure professional delivery of engineering services for our Collingwood operations.  He also Chairs the Tatham Quality Committee, responsible for the development and implementation of the corporate program.  

With over 30 years of experience, including 21 years at Tatham, Michael provides direction on projects from inception to completion, with a particular focus on transportation, land development and municipal infrastructure projects, maintaining hands-on involvement throughout.  He also regularly provides strategic and business advice to governments, transport infrastructure providers and private developers.  

Michael has a personal connection to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. His partner works on the medical floor as one of the hospital’s many super nurses. This connection has deepened his appreciation for the hospital’s critical role in the community and has motivated his dedication to supporting its initiatives and fundraising efforts. 

Within the community, Michael has coached soccer for many years (seeing all 5 of his children participate) and has been on the soccer club’s Board of Directors for over 10 years, currently serving as Club President.  When not on the soccer pitch, he has spent time at the volleyball courts, basketball courts and ice rinks enjoying his children’s endeavours.

Jack has an extensive professional background in business, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Chartered Accountant and holds his Fellowship in both. He is also a Certified Financial Planner, a Certified Fraud Examiner and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Jack has over 40 years of experience in corporate governance, accounting, auditing, business consulting, forensic accounting, corporate workouts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and income tax and estate planning. He was involved for 40 years in Rotary and more recently, Probus. Jack is an avid golfer and skier and is a member of Lora Bay Golf Club, Tara Golf and Country Club and the Georgian Peaks Ski Club.  Jack resides in Thornbury, Ontario with his wife Susan and enjoys travelling to Florida for part of the winter. Jack was a longtime member of the Board of Directors of the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation serving as Chair and member of the Executive Committee, Legacy Giving Committee, Administration and Finance Committee and the Investment Review Committee. Jack is currently a member of the Administrative & Finance and Investment Review Committees and a Campaign Ambassador on our Tomorrow’s Hospital Campaign. 

A seasoned governance and finance professional, Craig Hayman has extensive experience in leadership roles within the regulatory and investment sectors. As a former Board Member and Commissioner at the Ontario Securities Commission, he successfully chaired the Governance and Nominating Committee and played a pivotal role in restructuring the organization. His tenure at Edward Jones Investments spanned various senior positions, where he focused on talent management, client experience enhancement, and strategic growth across multiple divisions. Additionally, Craig served on the Board of the Ombudsman for Financial Services and Banking, overseeing dispute resolution processes. With a strong background in financial oversight, marketing, and leadership development, Craig brings a wealth of expertise in driving organizational success and governance excellence.

Dan Hurley has served as President of Tatham Engineering for nearly five years. He joined the local engineering firm in 1999 as a young Water Resources and Development Engineer, playing a key role in the development of the Intrawest Village at Blue Mountain Resort project. After moving to the area for work, Dan settled in Collingwood, where he got married and has raised three children.  

As President, Dan is responsible for developing the company’s strategic and business plans, ensuring Tatham Engineering’s continued success beyond its current 35 years. With over 30 years of engineering experience, he has held roles as a Project Engineer, Project Manager and/or Project Advisor on a wide variety of civil engineering projects covering the land development, water resources and municipal engineering disciplines. Dan is a LEED Accredited Professional dedicated to creating sustainable designs that address critical infrastructure issues in the communities Tatham services. 

Dan’s commitment to community service is evident through his involvement with local healthcare initiatives. He has been a steadfast supporter of the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, advocating for improved healthcare facilities and services in the region. He has also served as a long-time hockey coach and a member of the Rotary Club of Collingwood South Georgian Bay. 

Outside of work, Dan is an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying the abundant opportunities for mountain and road biking, hiking, skiing and fishing in Collingwood and the surrounding area.

Brian is semi-retired since 2020 and migrated, with his wife Catherine to Collingwood from Caledon in 2022. A seasoned Executive with core expertise in Marketing, Sales and Strategic Planning, he led businesses in industries spanning Automotive & Heavy Duty Fluids, Consumer Packaged Goods, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology & Beverage Alcohol.  

A Chartered Director (ICD) with a B. Comm. from Queen’s University (1980), Brian served on the Board of Stewardship Ontario as Chair of the Finance & Risk Committee. He is Past Chair of the Canadian Chemical Specialty Producers Association and The Orthopedic and Arthritic Hospital Foundation (Sunnybrook). And is currently the President of one of the Shipyards Condo Corporations. 

Brian is passionate about family (Catherine, 6 kids, 8 grand-kids), skiing, cycling, boating, friendships and a new improved CGMH!

Catherine retired in 2020 from her career in Global Event Management and Site Selection and moved from Caledon to Collingwood in 2022 with her husband Brian Prendergast. With six adult children and 8 grandchildren, she stays very busy providing family support and hugs. She has years of experience in fundraising and philanthropic involvement. She has been a key leader in fundraising for Organoid research and development at Sunnybrook and spent three years working for the Rick Hansen Foundation providing education and community outreach. 

Catherine is a cyclist, skier and pickle ball player and has raised significant funds through her sports.

I have lived in Collingwood since 1998, part time during my working career, and as a full-time resident since my retirement in 2013. Involved the Financial Services industry since 1971, I owned and operated an insurance brokerage in Toronto for several decades, during which I was frequently involved in fund-raising for various charities and not-for-profit organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society, Kingsway College School and the Collingwood Marine & General Hospital. I am committed to continuing that tradition by helping to ensure the new hospital is built. This is critical to addressing the many health care challenges that need attention in the province and, in particular, our local community. I am privileged to live here and am excited to support this important initiative in any way I can.

I was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec.  I graduated with a BA from Sir George Williams University (now Concordia), where I met Michael Sax.  After graduation, I worked for a major hardware distribution company, married Michael, and we moved to Toronto in 1975. I found employment in the wholesale travel business (i.e. package tour companies), which I thoroughly enjoyed.  After our first child was born, I took a course which prepared me to work part-time as a travel agent for several years, after we had our second child. 

We met new friends in Toronto who were avid skiers as we were, and soon we were skiing at Blue Mountain every weekend, commuting from a very reasonable motel in Stayner along with 4 other couples, where we had all booked rooms for the season.  It was lots of fun.  We rented accommodation for several winters and have owned a chalet in Town of Blue Mountains for 31 years, which was one of our best decisions.  We love the skiing, cycling, sailing, hiking, wonderful friends etc. in this beautiful area, year round. 

I became very active in a not-for-profit charity in the late ‘80s, served on and chaired several committees, and continue to volunteer wherever needed.  I have been on the Executive of this charity for many years and it’s very important to me. For over 30 years, I served on the Board of Directors of the hardware distribution company where I had worked. In both Toronto and Collingwood, I volunteered to cook for the Out of the Cold programs, providing home-made food for the guests.  It was very rewarding. 

I am a proud wife, mother, and grandmother of a skiing family. 

CGMH is important to us, as we turn to it with our growing family when any of us needs good health care.  The plan for the new hospital is very exciting, and we look forward to the future state of the art facility in the region.

Michael is president of Julmi Enterprises Limited, a Toronto-based, family-owned private investment management firm. Julmi has interests in several “start-ups” to “mature” stage companies throughout North America. Its portfolio includes interests in private real estate, manufacturing, importing and distribution, and a connectivity communication company.  It is also a seed stage investor in a Silicon Valley VC Fund as well as a Canadian Private Equity company. Michael has acted as an advisor or director in a number of those companies. 

Michael understands governance, risk management and the complexities and challenges of various types of enterprises and not for profit organizations. Along with a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, and both Civil law (B.C.L) and a Common Law degree (LL. B) from McGill University, Michael holds an Institute of Corporate Directors Designate (ICD.D) and in 2013, he obtained a Family Enterprise AdvisorTM certification from The Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors.  

Before retiring from law, he had over 39 years of transaction experience, and continues to be an advisor, director and active investor. He has taken on various educational, mentorship, community and charitable leadership roles throughout his career.    

Michael is a skier, a passionate cyclist, participates in many other outdoor sports and loves spending his free time with his family and friends in Toronto and the Town of Blue Mountains. 

Michael and his spouse Julia have been supporters of CGMH and approached CGMH Foundation to see how they could be involved in helping the Foundation carry out its mission.

Derek Sims has been a seasonal resident of Collingwood since the early 1960’s, enjoying winters skiing at Craigleith and summers swimming at Northwinds Beach. Golf, curling,cycling and pickle ball have been added to the list of leisure pastimes now enjoyed locally. Recently retired, and in the process of becoming a full time resident of Blue Mountain, Derek is keen to participate in the way that we expand and grow the services and facilities that support our community. 

An engineering career spanning more than 40 years was spent finding new ways to harness the power of technology and smart devices to tackle the ever increasing challenges of mobility in cities across the globe, with protecting the environment and energy efficiency as top priorities, Through his leadership role in the consulting business, Mr Sims acquired significant experience in the complex financial, organizational and operational challenges associated with large infrastructure and operational projects, He also had the opportunity to explore new ways of applying advanced technologies in the delivery of health services,  

Derek has a full appreciation of the critical importance of our local hospital and the excellent health services provided there, and is excited to be able to contribute to the bold initiative to provide our community with the facility, the state of the art technology and the broad range of capabilities and services needed to meet the demands of our growing region. 

Scott Stewart is CEO and President of Scott Stewart & Associates and Chair of Bluwatr Partners, a firm established to invest in engineering and architecture firms. He is also on the Board of AECON, the largest publicly traded infrastructure company in Canada. 

Previously Scott was with IBI Group (TSX:IBG) for over 35 years, including the CEO for the last 10 years.  Over the period that he was with IBI, it grew from a small Canadian company of some 30 people in two offices, to a public company of over 3,500 people operating globally through some 60 offices. IBI was unique in its comprehensive approach to sustainable, safe, and creative urban environments, often through the application of technology. In 2022, IBI was acquired by a large European company.  

Scott has been active in various associations including the Transportation Association of Canada, the TAC foundation as well s the Intelligent Transportation Association of Canada.  

Scott and his wife Linda recently moved to  Collingwood but have been part of the area (Beaver Valley) for over 30 years. They have 3 lovely daughters and 8 amazing grandchildren.

Charlie Tatham moved to Collingwood with his family in May, 1970, and quickly became interested in local affairs.  Coming from a hunting, fishing, and boating background, he was quite surprised to discover that, other than the Shipyards, the harbour on magnificent Georgian Bay was essentially empty.  Along with other like-minded individuals, he set about rectifying this and they created the Collingwood Yacht Club, which has blossomed over the past 50+ years.  His community interests quickly expanded to include fundraising for the Collingwood Museum, becoming a board member with Collingwood’s E3 Community Services Inc and the local United Way.  As a licensed pilot, the airport was another focus and he served as Chair of the Collingwood Regional Airport Services Board, for over 12 years.   

The General & Marine Hospital became a primary focus in 1977 when he was elected to the Board of Trustees and served on the board for the following 12 years, including 2 years as Chair.  After 18 years with a local consulting engineering firm, he resigned to form C.C. Tatham & Associates Ltd. in October 1988.  The related demands and pressures led to respite from the G&M for several years, after which he joined the Foundation Board, where he served for the following 12 years as a board member, committee chair and two years as board chair.  These years included several significant fundraising initiatives, and Charlie served as chair of major gifts during the Your Future Fund Campaign.   Having served 12 years, Charlie completed his term with the Foundation Board in 2012 but has continued to maintain an interest in the initiatives and actions of the Foundation Board, including his current role as an Ambassador to help raise funds for the new hospital.   

Charlie retired from CCTA in 2012 and resides with his with, Joy, on a tiny acreage in Grey Highlands.

Joy Tatham, the youngest of five children, was born and raised in a small town in northern Ontario. After several years at MCTV in Sudbury, she moved to Toronto and spent 12 years working in the corporate sales industry. Seeking a change of pace and a deeper connection to her community, Joy relocated to Collingwood. There, she embraced the role of a dedicated homeschooling parent while actively contributing to various local volunteer initiatives, showcasing her commitment to service and community engagement.

With a wealth of experience in sales and a passion for helping others, Joy joined Corus Entertainment, where she has spent the past 15 years as an Integrated Account Manager. In this role, Joy has developed strong relationships with clients from coast to coast, demonstrating her ability to connect and collaborate across diverse sectors.

Joy’s heart for her community remains a driving force in her life. She is eager to leverage her talents and expertise to support the realization of a new state-of-the-art hospital that will serve the South Georgian Bay region, ensuring access to quality healthcare for all. Through her work and community involvement, Joy Tatham continues to make a positive impact on those around her.

Laura Wilson is dedicated to supporting better healthcare for South Georgian Bay. Her mother served as a nurse at CGMH which inspired Laura to dedicate her time to the hospital as both a candy striper and volunteer. She went on to work on the Future Fund Campaign which led to her working for the CGMH Foundation. She is now an active fundraiser who sits on the Giving Circle committee.  

Laura’s impact extends beyond her community involvement. In 2011, Laura and her husband Richard, founded Agnora where she served as VP of Administration for 13 years. Laura played a crucial role in creating an environment that motivated employees to love their work and deliver their best. Her support for AGNORA’s dynamic team culture, and exceptional customer service has helped to position AGNORA as a global leader and industry-disrupter, matching the caliber of their world-class projects with top-notch surroundings and amenities. 

Born and raised in Collingwood, Ontario, Laura is proud to call South Georgian Bay home and the place where she raised her own family.  Laura has a profound love for the outdoors and holds immense gratitude for her close-knit community.

Richard Wilson is a lifelong entrepreneur. By age 21, he had built up the largest house painting business in Toronto, Forest Hill Painting. His other ventures have included a retail bike store (Kamikaze), Ontario’s first bungee jumping business, and construction management (Wilson Project Management). 

In 2011, Richard, and wife Laura, founded AGNORA: a customer service company that fabricates the largest architectural glass in North America. Through Richard’s strategic leadership, dynamic team culture, exceptional customer service and strong partnerships, AGNORA achieved impressive and sustained growth, positioning them on the global market as a world-class leader and industry-disrupter. 

Richard has received numerous awards and recognition for his vision, leadership, personal integrity and entrepreneurial spirit including Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employer, EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, and Canada’s 10 Most Admired Cultures. Richard is passionate about learning, exceeding the expectations of his customers, and finding ways to build mutually rewarding partnerships with all stakeholders in his business. He supports a variety of local charities and has been active in both the Collingwood Chamber of Commerce and the Region of Simcoe County to promote business development in the area. 

Richard now serves as Board Chair for AGNORA. He is an avid cyclist, hiker and boater and remains very passionate about his community.

Pat Wright was elected to the Board in 2018 after spending some time consulting with the Foundation. As a retired fundraiser herself, Pat brought a unique perspective to the Board which helped them to understand the science behind the art of fundraising. Not only did Pat design and deliver an in depth training program on fundraising, she used her skills to fundraise actively for the Foundation among her friends and acquaintances. Currently, the Board is working with Pat and leveraging her deep knowledge of healthcare philanthropy to pave the way to hiring the Foundation’s first new CEO in 36 years.
