With support from the CGMH Foundation’s Wellness Innovation Fund, the Dry Run Club launched Operation Love Yourself, a community-based wellness initiative designed to improve mental well-being, increase physical activity, and reduce reliance on alcohol and other unhealthy coping habits.
The program encourages participants to track movement activities such as walking, running, and hiking alongside alcohol-free days, demonstrating how small daily choices can lead to meaningful, long-term health benefits. Participants receive recognition through milestone badges and contribute to a collective community wellness tally that promotes accountability, connection, and celebration of progress.
Wellness Innovation Fund support has helped bring the initiative to life through the creation of the Love Yourself Journal, a free resource provided to challenge participants, as well as community workshops, wellness events, and educational programming. The funding has also helped expand access to the program, enabling more residents across South Georgian Bay to participate.
Since receiving funding, the project has built strong partnerships with local businesses and wellness organizations, hosted community runs and workshops, and engaged both adults and youth in healthy lifestyle habits. By combining movement, social connection, and self-reflection, Operation Love Yourself is helping create a more resilient, health-focused community while empowering individuals to prioritize their mental and physical well-being.
